Drawtober 2024
This illustration series was created for Drawtober 2024, inspired by their prompts of classic Halloween monsters. I focused on a black-and-white palette to challenge myself and enhance my skills throughout the month. Each piece is crafted with a gothic aesthetic, aiming to bring a cohesive, haunting atmosphere to the collection as a whole.

01
Vampire
In the first illustration, I wanted to portray a vampire in an unconventional way. I depicted her bathing in blood, her pale skin starkly contrasting with the dark background.
02
Shapeshifter
For this illustration, I chose the classic shapeshifter: the werewolf. I’m drawn to images with a narrative, so I wanted to hint at a story here through the torn portrait and the werewolf's pose.

03
Witch
Throughout history, witches have often been cast as figures of evil. In this piece, I wanted to portray a witch glancing back at the prejudice she has narrowly escaped. The Salem witch trials were a strong influence for this illustration.
04
Undead
I love a cemetery and thought this prompt was the perfect opportunity to visualise a scene in this environment.

05
Ghost
I drew inspiration from my fascination with Victorian-era photography while creating this illustration.
06
Monster
I find stories of misunderstood monsters especially compelling, and I aimed to create a creature that evokes sympathy while retaining an eerie, haunting presence.
